English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program familiarises students with English-medium academic conventions and develops skills specific to an academic environment. The EAP program prepares students for the transition from studying in their native language and home country to studying in English at an Australian University or College. The EAP program teaches students to consider texts, discourses and issues in a critical light and supports them in becoming independent learners. The EAP program is offered at three levels: Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced. Students undertake weekly assessments in relation to the course material they have studied.

Minimum entry requirement for EAP is IELTS Band 5.0 or PTE Academic Score 36.

Discover English was formed in Melbourne in February 2010 with the objective of being one of Australia’s premier English language colleges. The college opened in June 2010. Through the broad experience within the international education industry through teaching, marketing, administration and management, the team possesses unique and relevant skills to build a successful college. We are determined that our courses be delivered by only the best teachers using the latest materials and methodologies. The staff at Discover English have worked with many universities, colleges and education agents, utilising the resources of these associates. The staff demonstrate competency in all aspects of successful college management and are passionately committed to the business. In October 2012 Discover English was acquired by Academies Australasia and is now part of an education group with over 100 years’ experience in education. The college was shortlisted as a finalist in English Language Training, Student Support and Student Experience in the 2013 Victorian International Education Awards. All courses at Discover English are approved by NEAS and ASQA, and the college is a member college of English Australia.

Once ready, you need to sign the LOO confirming the quotes (your 1st instalment) and school Terms & Conditions. Then, you can proceed with direct payment to school using the on-line paying option on this platform. If the transferred is successful, you will get your CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment). Applying for 12 week or longer course = means you can apply for student visa to Australia. You have to meet Australian Immigration Office (DIBP) requirements. You can apply for your Student visa (Subclass 500) online from DIBP www. You must submit a number of supporting documents. We can advise you on some steps of that process and support you with your GTE (official letter to DIBP explaining the reasons you’re undertaking the course in Australia).
