Industry connections and resources

Many of the projects undertaken in the course are in conjunction with a range of agencies such as Darebin Parklands, Whittlesea City Council, Parks Victoria, and Landcare.

 

Employment outcomes

Roles and area of focus are diverse. Positions can be found with private contractors or government agencies. As a graduate, you can apply for positions in the following areas:

  • bushland management,
  • catchment and land management,
  • environmental management,
  • environmental planning officer,
  • landcare or specific property planning,
  • parkland, flora and fauna management.

You are strongly advised to develop your own contacts within the industry by joining appropriate volunteer groups and undertaking a wide range of work experience in this way.

Assessment

Detailed information about assessment will be provided at the start of each unit. Assessment methods include: observation, demonstration, questioning, assignments, tests, reports, products, portfolio, and third party reports.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

You can seek RPL where your work or qualifications of an advanced and related nature have been undertaken. Academic Credit is granted on a case-by-case basis, according to our Academic Credit policy and associated procedures. Applications for Academic Credit will be assessed by relevant Melbourne Polytechnic academics and where appropriate, industry experts.
