Do you want to become a personal trainer?

Certificate IV in Fitness provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions within the fitness industry, including working independently in a broad range of settings, such as within fitness centres, gyms, pools, community facilities and in open spaces. This course is your pathway to becoming a personal trainer!

Our Certificate IV in Fitness program has been customised with an exciting collaboration between SSFCC and Surf Life Saving NSW, to deliver the Aqua Trainer Specialisation.

Career Opportunities

Certificate IV in Fitness is appropriate for those students interested in training individual clients, on a one-on-one basis, and may include older clients, children and special population clients.

Students graduating with this level of competency will have the ability to plan, design and deliver exercise programs for individuals and small groups, conduct and evaluate exercise training, provide leadership and guidance to clients and other staff and possibly deal with unpredictable situations.

Exercise Trainers will have the ability to monitor and manage business activities to operate efficiently and profitably.

SELC Australia offers a wide range of courses, from English to Vocational programs and has maintained its reputation as a leading brand in international colleges since 1985. SELC is located in Bondi Junction (20 min away from famous Bondi Beach) and in Sydney’s CBD.

SELC offers courses to suit all students’ needs and levels, from beginners who wish to study General English to higher level students wishing to prepare for exams such as Cambridge and IELTS. SELC Bondi is now providing not only traditional 12-week Cambridge courses (B2, C1, C2), but also flexible B1 and B2 starting every Monday.

In 2019 we have introduced a new programme for Upper-Intermediate to Advanced levels. “Beyond English” focuses on real-world projects such as holding meetings, creating blogs, delivering presentations, promoting a product, solving briefs and other activities which can prepare them for use of their language skills beyond the classroom.

SELC Bondi also offers a 4-week course that prepares you to work in a café and improves your communication skills. Students of English for Customer Communication Course prepare and serve coffee to other students every morning at our Bondi Campus.

For those students wishing to extend their study in Australia and are considering career development SELC offers vocational courses in Sport and Fitness, Early Childhood Education and Care and a range of Business Courses (Project and Program Management, Leadership and Management, Business and Administration) across both campuses.

This June we will introduce Business Foundation English course for intermediate and higher-level students, who wish to extend and develop their English language skills for professional or career purposes or join our Vocational Business Courses).
